Radio Frequency Facial (RF)

Radio Frequency (RF) is for facial tightening and skin laxity. By heating the dermis to a temperature of between 38 – 40 Degrees, it stimulates collagen remodelling and production. The result is a lifting, firming, and contouring effect. Radio Frequency penetrates the skin layers to selectively heat the skin tissue and the extracellular matrix where the collagen fibres are embedded.  The localised heating of the area being treated causes an immediate contraction of the collagen fibres, and at the same time increases the metabolism of the fibroblast order to accelerate production of new collagen and elastin fibres to create smoother, healthier and younger-looking skin.

A gel is applied to the area being treated as this acts as a conductor for the radio frequency waves.  A handpiece is placed on the skin and moved a gentle circular motion until the area is heated to 40 degrees (this is monitored using an infrared thermometer).  There is no pain and no downtime associated with this treatment.

For optimum results, we recommend a course of 6 – 8 treatments.
