As the season starts to change and temperate begins to drop, it’s that time of year again to switch up your skincare routine.  With a colder climate and cranked up thermostats this can play havoc with our skin, the fluctuation in temperature, moving between cold and heated environments can lead to decreases in hydration levels in the skin.

You may notice that your skin feels tighter, drier and duller during the winter months and this is primarily down to TEWL (Trans-Epidermal Water Loss) .  Essentially, this is the loss of moisture from your skin and it’s ability to retain moisture so that your skin feels nice and hydrated during the day. Dr Dennis Gross’ Hydration kit contains 3 products which are all designed to combat this exact problem.  First step is the Meltaway Cleanser – a rich cream cleanser which can be applied and removed with cotton pads to dissolve all make up and dirt whilst hydrating the skin.  Aqua’s top tip – leave your cleanser on for a couple of minutes before rinsing so that the ingredients have a chance to work.  Too often we apply and remove cleaners within the blink of an eye which leaves the skin thinking “what was that??”

Next step is the Hero product – DDG Alpha Beta Universal Peel Pads – a gentle exfoliate to even skin tone, remove dead skin cells and refine pores.  An effective dose of 5 different AHA/BHA acids plus antioxidants and vitamins.  These are gentle enough to use daily or twice weekly if you have a slightly more sensitive skin type. Do not rinse.

Finally, finish with applying Hyaluronic Marine Moisture Cushion – an oil free moisturiser which locks in moisture to keep the skin looking dewy, supple and plump throughout the day.  This product is also suitable to be used at night time.
